A song about the timelessness of the river and the fleetingness of the human existence
The Polruan ferry carries passengers to and fro between Fowey and Polruan and has done so for generations. One of the most memorable ferrymen was Tosh. Originally a Camborne lad with a colourful past and a popular character in the village. He was well known for his three fingered salute, because sometimes, two fingers just isn’t enough! When he died, he made his final crossing in his coffin on the back of the ferry.
This inspired the collaboration between the two Steves and Ijaz to write the title track to the second album.
