The Charity

Like a lot of bands and entertainers, we are invited to perform by many worthy charities and causes and as it is not possible to accommodate all of them, we decided to do our utmost for one particular charity, The Robert Johns Leukaemia Fund a local charity run by Roberts father, Bob Johns, in his memory. Bob Johns was awarded an MBE in recognition of the vast amount of time put in over the past several decades to raising hundreds of thousands of pounds to fund leukaemia research and to provide equipment to help care for those suffering from this terrible disease.  We were very pleased to donate a significant part of our fee from the majority of our gigs to this worthy cause and helped Bob exceed his target of £250,000 shortly before he succumbed to cancer himself.  The Fund is now being wound down so for now we can offer other charitable events, a reduced charitable rate.

UPDATE

As Bob’s annual charity show featuring Twin Harmony, Johnny Cowling and ourselves was postponed back in March 2020, we mutually agreed that we would like to finish the job for Bob. On 23rd January 2022, we performed for one more time together at Launceston Town Hall and in doing so, raised a further £2292.48 for Robert Johns Leukaemia Fund before it is closed down.
